Amsteel Blue from Samson is a high-performance 12-strand single braid line made of 100% Dyneema fiber. It offers a high strength-to-weight ratio (stronger than steel) with very low stretch. High abrasion and cut resistance thanks to a Samthane coating and it even floats. Recommended for high load, static applications like halyards, wire replacement, and lightweight spinnaker sheets, and our top choice for Laser traveler lines.

Honeywell International produces a similar UHMWPE fiber, marketed as Spectra®

The perfect traveler line, great for high load applications

There are many versions of 'Spectra/Dyneema' line, and it all gets a bit confusing. This 5mm version is low stretch, long lasting, and holds knots well. Like all spectra, the ends are a bit hard to keep under control when you cut and melt the line, so make sure to put some tape over the section you are cutting beforehand. Otherwise, this is a great line for all dinghy applications. Laser travelers and high load applications anywhere.
