Helpful information about Order Returns West Coast Sailing.

Returns Information

To keep things simple we offer returns for a refund rather than exchanges. That way you can re-order any product/style/color/size that you want, at any time you want – just shop online and start a new order. This will speed up the delivery of any replacement product if needed.

Your 100% satisfaction is our goal. If for any reason you have a problem with your product (sizing, color, wasn’t what you thought it would be, etc.) we do accept returns of most products. Please contact us right away if there is a problem with your order or if products arrived damaged. You can find information on returns and exchanges below.

Exceptions: Some items are not eligible for our standard returns and exchanges policy. Items including cut line, numbered sails, open DVDs, and products worn or used out on the water are not eligible for return or exchange. Clearance items included on our Deals page (or other product categories) are eligible for exchange (if other sizes/colors are available) or return for store credit only. A note about this policy is included on applicable product pages. Items noted as "special order" and all new kayaks and sailboats will incur restocking fees. These fees are assessed on an individual basis. Contact us for questions about special order items, kayaks, and sailboats.

COVID-19 Update: Due to safety protocols we have in place here at our office, the physical processing of returns may take longer than usual, up to a week from the time the package is received. We apologize for an inconvenience but appreciate your understanding in these challenging times. 


Return Form

Please print out and complete a copy of our West Coast Sailing Return Form (PDF) with your contact info, order number, and items you're sending back to us. This makes it easy for us to quickly process your request. Packages can be sent to the following address:

Returns & Refunds

Returns can be made within 30 days of purchase for full refund (excluding exceptions above). Returns made outside 30 days will be issued store credit. Please include any packaging material along with a completed copy of our West Coast Sailing Return Form (PDF) to make processing the return faster. Please allow 5-7 days for return processing and 1-2 billing cycles for credit to appear. Returns of clearance items for store credit will be issued a gift certificate for the value of the return for use on any future purchase.

How To Return:

  • Package up your return along with any packing or product material. (tip: You can re-use the same packaging if all shipping labels get covered up).
  • Include a filled out copy of the West Coast Sailing Return Form (PDF) and your invoice. Ship your return to:

  • You will be responsible for the cost of shipping items back to West Coast Sailing. You are welcome to use any convenient method including USPS, UPS, or FedEx. USPS First Class works great for small packages and USPS Priority works great for larger boxes.
  • We will process a refund for your order (less any shipping charges) once the product is received.
  • If you do not have access to a printer, please include the information requested on the return form on a sheet of paper and include in the package. This may add to processing time but we will do our best to handle your return quickly.


To speed up the process of getting your replacement product, any exchange should be treated as a new order. We no longer offer traditional exchanges. To 'exchange' an item, simply go to our website and place an order the alternate product or size you need. At your convenience, simply send back the item(s) you no longer need following the returns instructions listed above.

You are welcome to wait until your return has been processed and credited before making the replacement purchase if that is more convenient. Keep in mind, inventory moves quickly, especially during holidays and sale times, so we encourage you to re-order sooner rather than later to avoid missing out!

Include your replacement order number with your return and we will refund any standard shipping charges paid on your original order.* (See exception for international exchanges below).

International Exchanges

Due to the high cost of shipping internationally, we are unfortunately unable to offer shipping refunds for orders shipping outside the United States. While we are happy to process a return and replacement order (with the same exceptions as domestic purchases) we would not be able to refund the shipping charges on the replacement order.
