Opti Vang (Tapered)

The Opti Tapered Vang is the ultimate vang upgrade for the Optimist racer. Replace your wire vang with this all line option which includes a section of 1.7mm Amsteel with loops on each end plus a section of 5mm Dinghy Control line for cleating. Simply pass one end of the 1.7mm primary around your boom through the boom bridge, then luggage tag both ends of the primary to the eye of the control line and lead the control line down to the cleat on the mast.

Installation Instructions:

• Remove the 1.7 mm amsteel primary from the control line (should be luggage tagged together when received).

• Pass one end of the 1.7mm amsteel primary around the boom either behind the button or through the boom bridge.

• With both ends of the 1.7mm primary evenly hanging from the boom, luggage tag the loop end of the control line around both loop ends of the primary.

• Pass the control line down through the boom vang cleat to complete installation.
