Award Winning Life Jacket with Organic Kapok Foam Construction
This side entry, low-profile, jacket are reminiscent of the Lotus Designs jackets that go back to Astral's roots. The tri-panel front provides conforming, full coverage with a slim fit and the hinged back panel help keep a low profile even while ducking the boom. Burly cordura fabric and easy access pocket make the Ringo an excellent choice for all conditions. A great jacket for recreational, scholastic and even competitive sailors! Made from Organic Kapok, a buoyant plant fiber that comes from the seedpod of the kapok tree, this is the most sustainable buoyant material available. Astral sources their Kapok from organic sources in Indonesia. This life jacket, and all life jackets from Astral, is free of toxic PVC. Astral reuses as many scraps as possible, recycling everything, and composting organic material.
Staff Tip: This life jacket is fits slightly longer in the torso but has plenty of length in the straps - consider the smaller size if you're on the cusp of two sizes. When trying on a new life jacket, always open all of the straps first, and then tighten. This will ensure a proper fit. Rinse with fresh water after use and hang dry.

I recently purchased this PFD to replace my aging Green Jacket, which is also a fantastic PFD. What drew me to the Ringo was the lighter weight, and the front entry, while still being rescue harness compatible. While the added safety and rescue features of the Green Jacket are great when needed, they do add weight, and in my case, I just need the tether capability. The Ringo is light, fit is very comfortable and easily adjustable. I did add a harness, which is easy, and very well integrated (and also very easy to remove on days that I don't need it). Great PFD, highly recommended! - Sam Campbell, Jackson WY
