The Melges 24 Spinnaker Halyards are available both tapered or Non-tapered. This tapered version has a reeving splice on one end (for easy install to a clutch/cleat) and is tapered/buried on the other end (spinnaker head) with an end whip for durability. Made from 6mm Marlow Excel Racing line, which features a color matched Dyneema SK-78 core for low stretch with a 16 plait cover for improved abrasion resistance and durability. Benefits include a very high strength-to-weight ratio, very low stretch, low creep and outstanding durability. We recommend this option for active racers looking for top performance.
