    Essential for your mainsheet

This clip is much better than the snap shackles that come with some Optis. First, it easily comes off when under load, which is important when on a tow from a coach boat. Second, snap shackles have a little spur on them that can dig into your finger, and cut you. Not a good thing when you're trying to focus on racing. This clip is also very small, and saves weight, but strong enough for an Opti mainsheet. I always take my own mainsheet kit when I travel to regattas, in part so I can have this clip on my charter boat.
