Not fully sailing related, but still exciting: the local Business Journal named West Coast Sailing one of the Fastest Growing Private Companies in Oregon! We just had our 5 year anniversary, and we’re going to do our best to keep the pedal down for the next 5 years!

This was the – biggest – road trip yet. We rented a 24′ commercial truck to deliver boats and supplies to the Royal Victoria Yacht Club.

This truck had to fit 12 optis and a load of gear.
A bunch of the Oppis and Optis lined up on the dock.

This was a pretty long trip, including a ferry ride back and forth on the Black Ball Ferry. Victoria is a beautiful place though, definitely worth visiting if you can!

Opti ‘Team Trials‘ were a few weeks ago in Texas. Customers of ours from California to Washington made the trip down.
That’s a LOT of optimists….. !
We got some t-shirts made with an Opti sailboat on the back and the West Coast log on the front.
We then forced coaches and kids to smile for this photo
A couple of local kids qualified for the team, but everyone got heaps of experience to bring with them to their racing in the future.

As our company continues to grow we’re pleased to announce the addition of a new employee – Chris Brown!
We have sailed with Chris for years, and know we’ve found another fun, dedicated and very knowledgeable dinghy sailor to fill our staff. Chris actually lives on a boat, so he’s around water all day every day.

You can read a short bio on him in our About Our Staff page.
Chris will be spending a lot of time during the summer running events and regatta support with the travel trailer.
He’ll also be working more closely with our growing institutional customers to make sure they are getting the parts and product they need when they need it!
You can contact Chris at: Sales AT WestCoastSailing.net

Another Weekend – Another Road Trip! We hit the road again this weekend and landed in Vancouver B.C. to deliver some new Tasars.
Start off in Portland (this photo starts to seem familiar!)
End up at Jericho Sailing Center in Vancouver, B.C. The skies cleared up, sun was out. There were people EVERYWHERE
Beautiful day and HEAPS of people everywhere watching the action. Seriously cool to see so many people hanging around the dinghy park.

Looking towards West Vancouver, up at the restaurant after grabbing a delicious burger

We were on the road again this weekend, this time in support of Western Regional Semi Finals for College Sailing.
If that sounds like a mouthful, it’s the event that qualifies 9 of 18 teams for Nationals.

Loading up, the trailer with a 29er on the roof for good measure

Cold and blustery with decent breeze. Cold weather items were popular !
Fancy new tent this year and new display racks.

Interior of the trailer lined with goodies.

Several programs have already signed on to buy Teras and Fevas for youth sailing

Some Canadian programs have started fleets of RS500s as well.
We’ve got two customers who pre-ordered the new RS100
The RS Feva is one of our most popular boats that we sell.
